During the week-long Spring Festival holiday from January 21 to 27, cinemas in China witnessed a boom, with the box office reaching 6.758 billion yuan and the number of viewers about 129 million.
Suzhou’s box office stood at 110 million yuan, ranking 1st in Jiangsu Province and 7th in the country. And there were 2.2 million people attracted to the cinema, ranking 5th in the country.
Statistics show that during the 7-day Spring Festival holiday, Suzhou’s daily box office exceeded 15 million yuan for 6 consecutive days (from January 22 to 27). Moviegoers were given a wide range of choices such as costume movie Full River Red, science-fiction The Wandering Earth II, comedy Five Hundred Miles, and animation Deep Sea.
