According to the statistics released by Suzhou Customs on Nov. 22, Suzhou’s foreign trade in the first 10 months of 2021 totaled 2,043.25 billion yuan, seeing a year-on-year increase of 12%. The city’s exports increased by 13.9% to 1,191.39 billion yuan, while its imports rose by 9.4 % to 851.86 billion yuan.
In October, the city’s foreign trade value stood at 227.28 billion yuan, 13.1 percentage points higher over the same period last year, hitting another new high after setting records in August and September.
Statistics show that the foreign trade volume of private enterprises, whose growth rate increased, expanded 27.1% to 590.34 billion yuan in the first 10 months of this year, an increase of 1.4 percentage points over the previous month. The import and export value of foreign-funded enterprises and state-owned enterprises increased 7.1% and 5.2% to 1,339.37 and 113.43 billion yuan respectively.
