On Apr. 27, Suzhou Wuzhong District Bus Company started running two customized bus routes, the first of their kind in the city. One operates between Sangtiandao rail transit station and Lijingwan in Luzhi town, and the other between Yinxin Road in Guoxiang Sub-district and Liufeng Road in Hedong Industrial Park.
Under the guidance of Suzhou City Passenger Traffic Management Office, Wuzhong District Bus Company, working together with Bus Steward, is experimenting a new shuttle service to help commuters.
The two bus routes, using all newly-purchased sixth-generation new energy vehicles, operate during the morning peak hours from 7:00 to 8:00 and the evening peak hours from 18:00 to 19:30.
On the first day, the two bus lines operated 9 trips in total, with an average seat occupancy rate of about 90%. It is reported that there will be more customized routes to accommodate the needs of citizens.
